Finally, build flexibility into your withdrawal rate. A strategy that allows you to reduce discretionary withdrawals by 15% to 20% during defined market conditions—without compromising essential expenses—provides a meaningful behavioral and mathematical advantage over a rigid fixed-withdrawal approach.

The Compounding Imperative

Decades of compounding can be undone not by poor asset selection or inadequate yield, but by withdrawing at the wrong time.
